Mekong Dawn

This picture is from the imagination. Not so sure about the colouring. Bit picture postcard-ish!

Tried to paint a lighter picture and kept the brighter skin tones. Face is not quite fat enough.

Bare foot soccer player

£95

This is another Vietnamese painting. It is based on a photograph by Kenneth Alexander. The painting has been produced with his permission. I have taken part of the photograph - I like the plaster wall and shutters. The boy is ok but would like to capture the smile on the boys face. Haven't got it yet!

Amused by the way my concentration on the painting comes through in the picture. Quite liked earlier colouring with brighter skin tones. Looks pasty now.

I have been thinking of painting shoals or flocks for some time - I like the dynamics. Pleased with the translucence of acrylic

Really pleased with this one. Sue thinks that I should put more contrast in the hat.

Dartmoor Rain

£225

Painted this one from memory. I was driving to Tavistock when I saw this fantastic dark sky and rainbow across Whitchurch. There was a low warm winter sun highlighting the foreground. Had a large hand in the right foreground waving to a person in the field. Sue didn't like this so I painted it out.

Vietnamese Market

(Framed)

The most complex composition to date. The colour and form are pleasing with the fresh vegetables and the crescent of conical hats.

Used a burnt sienna background as a starting point.
